Residents of a Council Bluffs apartment confronted a man after police say he broke into the residents' home.

Council Bluffs Police arrested 28-year-old Brandin Nelson on burglary charges after officers found him inside an occupied apartment unit.

Law enforcement says Nelson broke through a screen window to get inside the apartment. He then rummaged through belongings until being confronted by the people who lived there.

Nelson was taken to Pottawattamie County Corrections where he was transferred into their custody. He was booked on the charges of Burglary 2nd Degree – Class C Felony ($10,000 Bond).

Additionally, Nelson was charged with Interference with Official Acts because of uncooperative behavior and failure to comply with lawful orders.
