Many people got to enjoy Taste of North Omaha at the Hope Center for Kids over the weekend.
Sunday, more than a dozen restaurants and businesses from the North Omaha area were at Hope Skate showing off their products. Organizers hope they can put a spotlight on businesses in the area without taking away from the rest of Omaha.
"This is a positive event to showcase businesses, people that are really keeping North Omaha thriving, and the things that in the future that are gonna be better 'cause a person that's catering now eventually will have a restaurant and some people already know 'em because they've done events like this," the event's creator Malcolm Tiller said.
Next year, organizers hope to have the event in June.
