Another candidate has entered the race for Omaha City Council.
Jim Rogers announced he is running for the District 4 seat being vacated by Garry Gernandt, who decided not to seek re-election. Rogers, who is a South Omaha native, currently serves as Congressman Brad Ashford's Outreach Director.
In a statement, Rogers says "we need to celebrate and promote our fantastic mix of cultural heritage as we work to ensure that South Omaha is receiving its fair share of essential city services, neighborhood development, and grant projects. As we look to the future, we have to train our workforce for the jobs of tomorrow and work to make our city a more robust economy and tourist destination to compliment well-known attractions such as the Zoo and College World Series."
