Safeguards against tax return scams

OMAHA,  Neb. (KMTV) - While you're busy preparing your tax returns, scammers are also busy.

Chad Brown with Liberty Tax said commonsense steps can keep you from being a victim.

"Treat your personal information - you're sensitive data [like] your social security numbers, credit card information - just like you do with cash," Brown said. "Don't leave them laying around in your home or office where anybody can get it. Really protect that data."
