GRETNA, Neb. (KMTV) — Monday night, dozens of children got to do some important shopping over the holidays.

In total, 74 kids joined Sarpy County deputies at the Grenta Wal-Mart to pick out gifts at the Shop with the Sheriff event.

Deputies worked with schools in the area to identify families who could use a little extra help this time of year.

"These kids love seeing our deputies in uniform and everyone has a great time," Chief Deputy Greg London said.

Wal-Mart donated $8,000 for the shopping trips.
