The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office has received a generous donation.
In a press release, the Sheriff's Office says they received 100 tactical tourniquets and cases courtesy of the La Vista Volunteer Fire Fighters Association, Joe LaPuzza, President.
The 100 kits cost $6,000.
The Sheriff's Office recently purchased kits for their Road Patrol deputies.
With the donation, deputies in all divisions will have the equipment.
Initial training on the use and application of the tourniquets has already been implemented, according to the press release.
Officers use tourniquets during traumatic injury situations involving serious blood loss.
The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office says, "Sheriff Davis and Sarpy County Sheriff's Office express our gratitude to the La Vista Volunteer Fire Fighters Association and its members."
