School helps students get hands-on experience

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — For high school students, the real world is coming faster than they expect it. To help them make the transition and jump-start their careers, a local high school has been working with auto garages to get them hands-on experience.

For years, Ralston High School has offered automotive/engine technology classes to give students a basic understanding of auto mechanic work.

Since January, they say five of their students have worked at professional garages two days a week to learn more about the field.

Today, they're giving us a look firsthand look at the program.
