The lighthouse sculpture honoring Elkhorn boy Lane Graves was officially installed and erected at Disney World this past week.

Graves died at Seven Seas Lagoon last year when he was grabbed by an alligator. His father, Matt, jumped into save him, but could not free his son.

A lighthouse was chosen for the statue because it is the logo of the Lane Thomas Foundation, a charity set up by Graves' family.

"We've commissioned an original sculpture of the lighthouse the foundation uses as a symbol of love and hope, to be installed on our property this summer," Walt Disney World Resort President George Kalogridis said in a June statement.
