Second pedestrian hit by a vehicle

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A second pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Thursday night, just a few hours after a semi-truck struck a pedestrian.

Officers were called to the intersection near Florence Boulevard and Emmet Street for a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian. An investigation revealed a pedestrian was crossing Florence Boulevard when he was struck by a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero, heading south. The pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk.

The person was transported to Nebraska Medicine by OFD medics. Speed and alcohol are not considered to be factors in this crash. The driver of the Oldsmobile has been identified as 60-year-old Kinnie Fairchild of Omaha. The pedestrian hit was identified as 48-year-old Randy Porter of Omaha. Porter suffered a head injury that is not considered to be life-threatening at this time.
