According to a release by the Council Bluffs Police Department, a Peterbilt semi fully loaded with meat products lost control and sideswiped a barrier on I-80 Tuesday morning.
After hitting the barrier, the vehicle overturned on its side and skidded across four lanes of on-coming traffic before hitting a light pole.
The driver of the vehicle, David Raper, was charged with failure to maintain control. Council Bluffs Police alongside the Iowa State Patrol are investigating the crash.
