BELLEVUE, Neb. (KMTV) — Bellevue Fire Department officials are calling a fire in the flooded out Paradise Lakes, suspicious.
Crews responded to the area Sunday night and say two properties caught fire. The area has been closed off since summer as a result of the floods, no one was inside either structure upon arrival. Investigators don't believe someone was trying to camp there and think the fire was started on purpose.
"I think this is simply a case of someone starting the houses on fire, there were two separate houses apart, the garage's were both totally involved, they were on the easiest accessible street to start a fire and make an escape," said Steve Wagner of the Bellevue Fire Department.
