A Silicon Valley tech company is opening an operations center in Omaha, promising to bring 300 "great paying" jobs to the city.

Financial technology company i2c Inc. based in California announced its intentions Tuesday. The company says jobs will be posted in a few weeks, with the center opening mid-2018.

The jobs will include IT, account management, operations and customer service positions, i2c said in its press release.

Omaha native Peg Johnson, a company executive, will oversee the operations center. She says the combination of financial institutions and talent pool in Omaha led to the decision.

This is the company's second operations center in North America,
