Firefighters were called to the Lincoln Correctional Center to put out a fire overnight.
The Department of Corrections says a small fire broke out inside Housing Unit C around 4 a.m. Thursday morning. The unit was evacuated in a safe and orderly manner and the prison remained secure though the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Due to the fire, inmate visitation has been canceled for today but should resume tomorrow.
