Saturday’s expected $800 million Powerball jackpot is the largest in U.S. history.
While people rush to buy their chance at millions, some think going to small towns will better their chances, and others want to go back where someone already struck gold.
The Fat Dogs gas station in Lincoln sold a million dollar Powerball ticket after Wednesday’s drawing. The place was given a $10,000 check after selling that ticket today.
“It couldn't have happened to a better place,” said Quincy Greer, who sold the winning ticket.
He said the store has been crazy busy since Wednesday, “the sales have tripled since then.”
They aren't the only ones who are busy, gas stations in smaller towns were also seeing the rush.
“We have been very busy selling tickets, especially at the last minute, everyone wants to win that big jackpot,” said Cassie Timmerman who works in Ceresco.
The Yutan gas station said people think the smaller towns sell the winning numbers
“As they say, the small towns have the winners, so they will try anything, and most of them just buy one ticket, not too huge numbers of them,” said Kathy Drews.
The chance to win $800 million will last until Saturday, the drawing will happen at 10 pm.
