OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — It seems like almost every roof in Omaha is covered in snow and some people like Director of Sunridge Village Retirement Community Richard Anzlone, are worried it could create problems for their roofs.
"With all the snow we've had and the cold weather combined and some ice melting and that on the roof we just wanted to be proactive and help ease our concerns too," says Anzlone. To help with the problem, Anzlone decided to bring in Husker Roofing to clear off the roofs for the business he manages.
Husker roofing says it takes quite a bit of snow to cause any real damage and that ice dams that form at gutter run-offs can contribute to the buildup. They also say that you should not try to clear the snow off your own roof and recommend bringing in professionals as it might be injured in the process.
