OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - Despite it being winter, some groups are wanting young people to start thinking about summer.
Specifically, summer jobs.
Step-Up Omaha pairs hundreds of teens and young adults with employers in the metro. The program runs from June 4 through August 10, but Monday is the first day of the application period.
Applicants must be between the ages of 14 and 21 and live in the city.
The application period ends at midnight March 11.
Participants can gain on-the-job experience, explore career fields and network while earning a paycheck.
The Empowerment Network hosts the summer opportunity along with the city, employers and youth organizations.
There are roughly 700 spots available, according to organizers.
