Douglas County election officials are expecting a strong voter turnout for Tuesday's Omaha Primary elections.

Election Commissioner Brian Kruse predicts a 23 percent voter turnout due to what he calls a strong slate of candidates for Mayor and City Council.

Voter turnout in 2013 was 22.8 percent, 19.2 percent in 2009, 16.6 percent in 2005, and 25.5 percent in 2001.

Polls are open from 8 a.m. Until 8.p.m. On Tuesday.
