Students from Omaha Skutt left at 6:30 a.m. Monday to go to the Homestead National Monument in Beatrice to watch the eclipse.
When at Homestead, which was named at top 10 place to watch the total solar eclipse, about 50 students will launch a weather balloon launch and here from NASA speakers.
Students from Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson also departed for Beatrice Monday morning.
Those at Skutt who did not go on the trip will still be able to watch the eclipse, though. They will head out to the football field during the event.
