OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Summer soccer camp and fall soccer league registration is now open.

As social distancing is still an issue, they will concentrate more on individual skills as opposed to games.

"The kids would come out for 90 minutes of training. They work with club staff, a lot of them are coaches," said Renee Wanderscheid, club registrar for Sport Omaha. "They will guide the kids through skill sets, individual things they need to work on and then at the end they will have little scrimmages."

They suggest registering your kids now for soccer leagues as it is risk free.

"It allows us to plan how many kids want to attend camp and also allows parents to wait to pay for camp until they are sure that the directive health measures will continue to allow, which we hope and have our fingers crossed and hope will be true," said youth director for Sports Omaha, Christina Lewis.

Another part of mastering the skill and technique of soccer is strength and conditioning.

"We just train them to help them get bigger, faster and stronger," said Steven Warren, president of Warren Academy. "I am looking forward to getting the kids back in here to work out. I am sure they are excited to be back playing again, as they have been sitting around waiting for this. Everyone is equally excited, players, coaches and trainers."

More than 600 kids have registered so far.
