Surprise commercial vehicle inspections held in La Vista

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Troopers from the Nebraska State Patrol conducted surprise commercial vehicle inspections on Wednesday in La Vista.

They were assisted by the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office and the La Vista Police Department. During the effort, 29 vehicles were inspected. Troopers discovered 143 violations of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and state law, and took 18 vehicles out of service. Vehicles are placed out of service due to bad brakes or tires, or other safety risks.

Six drivers were placed out of service for no operator's license or CDL's, and over $4,000 were issues in citations.
