The court-appointed counsel for one of two persons of interest in the Sydney Loofe investigation said he expects state charges relating to the case to be filed in Saline County in the next few weeks.

Korey Reiman, appointed by the court to defend Aubrey Trail, 51, said he expected his client and Bailey Boswell, 23, would be tried on unrelated federal charges together; but that he wasn't sure the pair would face trial on those charges. Instead, he said he anticipates charges relating to the Sydney Loofe investigation to take precedence over a federal trial.

Both Boswell and Trail have been persons of interest in Loofe's disappearance and now death for weeks.

Both appeared in federal court in Lincoln on Thursday on an unrelated federal charge of transporting stolen goods across state lines. In separate arraignments, both pleaded not guilty to those charges.
