Even when we're outside enjoying the weather, many of us are still on our phones, and in this heat, just having your phone out can cause damage.
"It's glass in metal, so it absolutely can get to the point where it can burn you," Phil Hardwig from U.S. Celluar said.
It's not just burning you, having your phone out in extreme temperatures can also lead to damage to the phone itself. If it's unshaded, Hardwig says, it can cause the internal components to melt to a point where they can be damaged.
Hardwig also recommends not leaving your phone by a pool. He said the best way to protect against water damage is a good case, but if god forbid your phone does get wet, the best way to restore it is to fill a bag with uncooked rice and keep the phone in it.
"Baggie with rice is still your best option, " Hardwig said, "do not power the device up. The immediate knee jerk reaction is still does this work, try to power it back on. Do not do that, you can actually cause the phone to short."
