Trial continues for man charged with sex trafficking in Omaha

Posted

It was the second day in the trial of a man charged for sexual-assault of a minor and sex trafficking in Omaha.

Prosecutors believe 46-year-old Anthony Swindle offered a 15-year-old girl for sex at a motel off of 680 and Maple in September 2015.

He's also accused of forcing another woman into prostitution at a home in southwest Omaha.

Prosecutors say this is a case about manipulation and force.

The defense claims Swindle is not the mastermind of the operation.

"Over the course of this roughly 3-4 months she saw over 100 johns, 100 men came to have sex with her, she never saw a dime from any of these sexual encounters, " said Sean Lynch, Douglas County Attorney.

"Their stories never match up," said James Regan, Defense Attorney. "Their stories are persistently and consistently inconsistent and contradictory. That's the one common thread you're going to see here through the whole time we do this."

The trial is expected to last the rest of the week.
