Tuesday's storm hit even harder to the Northwest of the Metro dumping at least ten inches of snow on Fremont.
“It's been a long time since this sort of thing has happened,” said Fremont resident, Hank Schlommer.
On Tuesday Hank Schlommer had his hands full.
“This is fun, well not today, but some days it is,” said Schlommer.
A chore Hank usually enjoys turned into a daunting task because of the type of snow that fell.
“It's hard, wet, thick, sticky, back breaking snow," said Schlommer.
The snow started falling around 6 o’clock Tuesday morning and didn’t stop.
“I can't remember the last time we had this much snow,” said one Fremont resident.
Just outside of town, on Highway 275 at times visibility was limited, roads were snow packed and blowing snow made it tough to drive.
In Fremont, city crews and private contractors worked as hard as they could to keep the roads clear, but at times it was just took hard to keep up, keeping residents inside.
“Someone got stuck in front of our house this morning so I tried to push them out and it was all ice under the snow and I was like I’m not even going try that," said a Fremont resident.
Many Fremont businesses were closed and school was canceled.
“I love the snow,” said seven-year-old Kloe Charist.
Kids weren’t complaining and resident weren’t either, because it could always be worse.
“We got a lot of snow, but I’m thankful we didn't get what Norfolk or anyone else got, they got hammered,” said a Fremont resident.
