Posted
The race is heating up for outgoing Omaha city councilman Franklin Thompson's seat.

Brinker Harding announced he will run for the 6th district seat. Harding was the chief of staff for former Mayor Hal Daub and currently serves as chairman of the Omaha Planning Board.

Former State Senator Dwite Pedersen also threw his hit into the ring Tuesday. Pedersen served in the unicameral from 1993 to 2008.

Thompson has decided not to seek re-election. The primary is April 4th, with the general election May 9th.
