LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — On Thursday, the Unicameral passed a resolution that urges Congress and the United States Army Corps of Engineers to prioritize flood control as a top priority for the management of water systems under their authority.
We talked with the resolution's author, Senator Julie Slama, about the bill on Friday. Her district in Southeast Nebraska was one of the hardest hit in the state. Watch her response to the bill's passing in the video above.
The resolution passed 43-1. A resolution is basically a strong-worded letter. No laws are being changed at this time.
