OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Physicians in training, medical students, nurses in their first year of training and others participated in an emergency medicine training exercise at UNMC today.

The exercise is a partnership with Gretna Emergency Medical Service, called Outdoor Sim Day, the training replaces the residents' normal Thursday training in a classroom setting. The exercise will feature multiple "victims" in a rural setting.

The exercise will show a roll over wreck with post storm debris and "victims" played by volunteers. The victims will be transported for treatment on scene thanks to UNMC's Simulation-in-motion truck, which is used to teach lifesaving skills for those in rural areas. A LifeNet air ambulance helicopter will also be on hand.
