One man is dead after a shooting involving a Cass County Sheriff's deputy in Louisville.

The Nebraska State Patrol says the deputy stopped a vehicle near First and Cherry Streets in Louisville around 7:15 Wednesday night which matched the description of a vehicle that was reported driving recklessly earlier. The 23 year old male driver who is from Louisville got out and approached the deputy. A confrontation ensued and the deputy fired his gun, killing the suspect.

An autopsy will be conducted on Thursday. The names of the suspect and deputy involved will be released later in the investigation.  A grand jury will be convened to investigate the incident, which is required by state law.
