A local bar says it's cleaning up its act and the Omaha City Council says it's willing to give the new owner another shot.
The council unanimously approves a change of partnership for the River City Saloon on 18th & Vinton St.
The new owner, Louis Zadina Junior, says his father and brother have passed away so he will now be taking over the bar.
Councilman Garry Gernandt says it was a problem establishment for a couple of years with bad practices and questionable patrons, and police have been keeping an eye on the bar. He says he is willing to give Zadina a chance as they continue to make improvements.
"Me and my wife took it over and we've cleaned it up and did a lot of work to it because my brother kind of left it in bad shape,” Zadina explained. "I love the bar, I love the area and I'm just going to keep going with it."
The Deer Park Neighborhood Association continues to do a revitalization initiative improving the area.
