Visitors arrive for Berkshire Hathaway weekend

It is the Super Bowl of finance, the annual Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting is expected to draw around 40,000 people to Omaha.

With that, comes a bump to downtown businesses, hotels and in recent years, Airbnb, with at least 1,300 guests spending around $250,000 for their lodging using the service.

Four years ago, Buffett encouraged shareholders coming to town to use Airbnb instead of hotels. Buffett has also suggested visitors price compare between flying to Eppley Airfield or Kansas City. Despite what the Oracle of Omaha advised, Eppley says it has seen a 10 percent increase over last year's Berkshire travel period.

There's a cocktail party tonight and event officially kicks off Saturday morning.

Correction: In one of the live reports the MHA was called the "Metropolitan Hotel Association," it is actually the "Metropolitan Hospitality Association."
