The future of the streetcar project is in the hands of the voters.
Mayor Jean Stothert announced this weekend that the streetcar project will be put on an upcoming ballot - possibly in the November 2018 election.
The ballot question would ask whether voters agree with the use of general obligation bonds of up to $30 million for the project. General obligation bonds must be approved by the voters, as was the case with the Centurylink Center.
