On Memorial Day Weekend Werner Park honored war heroes who never made it home with a special tribute in their memory.

"We are dedicating this POW/MIA chair for all those that are still missing from Vietnam and even World War II"

It’s an idea American Legion Rider Bob Swanson initiated months ago and now it’s a reality.

"Unfortunately he was killed in a motorcycle accident."

Friends of Swanson say he was a huge supporter of the military.

"He was very dedicated to the veterans and American Legion Riders."

His family attended in his memory, heartbroken Swanson passed just before his vision came to life.

"It was important to be here to support what he worked on and honor the veterans he focused so much of his life on."

Swanson's family says they are overjoyed the community holds onto Swanson’s vision of supporting American Heroes.

"He would be so proud that people are out here to show their support not for him but for the men and women who serve our country."
