A quiet neighborhood in Council Bluffs has a noise problem, with cars driving past home in high speeds.
"The sound is increased, its gotten so loud," Don Hansen of Bluffs Acres said. "It's a serious concern."
Complaints were heard by the Iowa Department of Transportation time and time again. Don Hansen worked with Dan Vorland, a neighbor in the area, to get a solution. And, after an initial rejection, a solution is in the works.
Officials are working to get the area a berm to absorb the sound. It is similar, but less expensive, than a wall.
"We're excited for the residents," Hansen said. "We're very excited."
