SCOTTSBLUFF — On Tuesday, Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) responded to a report of assault and theft at a truck stop near Sidney. While pursuing the suspect vehicle, they say one of the occupants jumped out...while traveling at about 50 miles per hour.

NSP says the pursuing trooper stopped and issued verbal commands to 20-year-old Kaniya Coleman, who tried to flee on foot. Another trooper was able to apprehend her they say.

The suspect vehicle came to a stop in the center lanes of eastbound I-80 says NSP. The driver, 22-year-old Quavaria Griffin and passenger, 27-year-old Ellis Dickerson, were then taken into custody.

Upon searching the vehicle, NSP says more than a pound of marijuana and a drink, stolen from the truck stop, were found.

All three suspects were arrested for marijuana possession and other charges.

They say the woman who jumped from the vehicle was treated for minor injuries and all three suspects were booked into Cheyenne County Jail.
