October 1 marks the beginning of domestic violence awareness month and a group aimed at stopping it is starting a new effort.
The Women's Center for Advancement is launching an awareness campaign that will focus on highlights the work it does to help women and children who are victims of abuse. More details will be released Monday afternoon on the effort.
The group opened its new location at 38th and Harney in April.
