OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) – An $86 million facility is one step closer to coming to the Omaha VA Medical Center.

Starting Monday, a road closure will affect the campus’ main entrance located on Nimitz Drive as crews prepare the area for the construction of the Ambulatory Care Center, according to spokesperson Andre Kok.

Kok said Puller Drive, the road connecting Center Street to the main entrance, will also be impacted.

Patients will notice a partial closing in parking lot two.

The lot will be re-labeled to provide veterans with the closest available parking on campus, according to officials. However, shuttle service will continue.

Kok said a groundbreaking ceremony will take place later this spring.

The new facility will feature services such as primary, specialty, ambulatory care and radiology and surgery suites.
