DOUGLAS COUNTY, Neb. (KMTV) — Amid coronavirus concerns, the Douglas County Treasurer's Office says a contingency plan has been developed to limit customer exposure.

The office provided the following release:

In light of a possible spread of the Corona Virus in the Douglas County metro area, Douglas County Treasurer John Ewing has put together a contingency plan to limit the exposure of customers and staff to lobby crowds in his offices. This plan will not be put in operation at this time, but it can be implemented quickly, if necessary.

In the meantime, Treasurer's staff is equipped with hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes and have been instructed to frequently wipe down surface areas and limit personal contact, such as shaking hands.

Customers are reminded that several payment options already exist for those who wish to avoid in-person transactions.

For vehicle registrations, customers may utilize the online renewal process, the U.S. Mail, or the telephone, by calling 402-444-7103.
