It sounds like the best news ever -- weight loss testimonials from people who've dropped pounds while pigging out on bread, pizza, tacos, McDonald’s, and Olive Garden!  But, is it too good to be true? The List's Donna Ruko digs in for a closer look.

Oprah says she lost weight thanks to eating bread.

Iowa Teacher John Cisna says he lost weight while eating at McDonald’s.

North Carolina Pastor Alan Martin says he lost weight eating at Olive Garden.

New York Chef John Pasquale eats pizza every day and loses weight. There’s even a book out promoting a Taco Cleanse.

Luckily, Nutrition Coach Lindsay Hunt has a list of tips for losing weight, no matter what unconventional diet you’re currently trying.

 

1.  High-Quality Ingredients

Oprah searches out the grainiest, nuttiest breads; John uses a low-calorie tomato sauce.

 

2.  Portion Control

Oprah has only one slice of bread each day; John limits his calories, even while eating at McDonald’s.

 

3.  Go Beyond the Diet

John combines eating with long walks, and you should take those, too.
