Students of The Rose Theater's Broadway at The Rose musical theater academy called the Rose Brigade joined students and performed to a crowd of more than 6,000 at the iTheatrics Junior Theater Festival (JTF) in Sacramento, California earlier this month.
They also took home the top honors at the event, which is the largest of its kind.
The Rose Theater's Broadway at The Rose students were also selected to present a 15-minute performance of the new script, Junie B. Jones JR., for the 6,000 attendees of JTF. This showcase performance is an opportunity for theaters in attendance to see what new scripts are being made available for the upcoming season. The students have been working on the performance piece for several months; New York director, playwright and teacher Marty Johnson
flew to Omaha on January 28 to personally work with the group and help them perfect their performance for the event.
Most of all, the kids say the Rose Brigade is a way to realize their broadway dreams are doable.
