It was in a Minneapolis apartment where Courtney Mattern got the idea to name a little Etsy shop "Pleasant Avenue."
"I thought it would be cool that all of my pieces would be sent from the same place as the name of the store," she explains.
Four years later, Mattern has moved from the street Pleasant Avenue, but the Etsy shop has really taken off. She offers classes and sells dozens of hand painted and hand lettered products. Some are sold in Omaha stores like Pulp. She also sells online and at markets and events like Junkstock.
