Lyn Thompson is an animal lover.
Lyn and her husband own two cats, and two dogs. This year, they added another pet to their family, Ursula, the pig.
"She turned one in September," Thompson said.
Ursula, or Urs, as her mom calls her, is a Juliana mixed with a pot bellied pig. She
comes in at about 28 pounds and will get up to about 45 pounds by the time she's five and full grown.
In Douglas county, Nebraska if you follow the rules, you can have a pet pig. In fact, there are eight pets licensed in town, according to the Nebraska Humane Society.
"They have to be under 28 inches tall, and under 100 pounds. It has to be spayed or neutered, and they have a vaccination they have to get every 6 months," Thompson explains.
And the piggy, isn't just perky, she's smart. The mental age of a toddler. She's never had a mess in the house, is crate trained and knows tricks like turn around, jump, and shake. Ursula can also walk on a leash with a special pig harness, which can lead to some fun reactions from neighbors as they go out for a walk.
The celebripig also has her owninstagram account, @andsheleft, which is run by Thompson.
"I guess it's mine but like 90 percent of the photos are of Ursula," she said.
So move over Miss Piggy, Ursula is ready for the spotlight.
