At Ware house productions on 44th and Farnam, Omaha band Before I Burn is recording their new album.
The man in the control room running the session is Grammy nominated Tom Ware.

Ware engineered Lady Gaga's number one song 'You and I.' She recorded it in his studio in 2011.

"It turned out just wonderfully, and she is one of the nicest artists I have ever worked with," he recalled. "Just very down to earth and so talented. We all hear singers that you feel it inside your body. The instant she started singing you felt it and it was just, wow."

The album, 'Born This Way', grabbed a grammy nomination. Following that was on the academy voting each year for the awards.

Ware took us behind the scenes at the studio and the grammy process. Album of the year, is always one of the most anticipated. this former album of the year nominee and academy voter says when it comes to how that winner is picked.

"It's going to be different for everybody. Album of the year, it's a big picture kind of concept. Listening to the album top to bottom, what is the concept, how do the songs flow. Is there a continuity?" he said.

Lady Gaga's former engineer also chimed in on her highly anticipated David Bowie tribute.

"She's a real wild card in terms of everything she does. I think the she's doing right now with Tony Bennett is so fabulous and such a departure from what everybody knew her for. She could tackle just about anything and do a great job," he said.
