Kristen Piper, 15, of Scribner is a big fan of the teen rock group R5.

R5 is an American pop rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2009. The band consists of Ross Lynch, Riker Lynch, Rocky Lynch, Rydel Lynch and Ellington Ratliff. She has the posters of the singer, Ross. She knows the songs.

Just don't ask her her favorite.

"All of them, most of them. It's hard to {pick one}," she says.

A typical teen with a typical hard teen question. Which is so important. because Kristen knows hard.

"She was injured in a skiing accident 7 years ago," he sister Kayla, explains. " She was skiing. we had been skiing multiple, multiple times as a family. She hit a patch of ice, and was unable to stop quick enough, and hit a tree. She's a quadriplegic."

Then, last May, Kristen and her family lost mom to cancer.

"She has such great care here. She asks questions, and they help answer and explain, share positive memories, but I think that helps," Kayla said.

Kristen's everyday is school, in her room, in her wheel chair. Recently, as with any teenage girl, as that concert creeps in so does the excitement. She watches R5 music videos, and waits. Monday night, that care extends to the concert hall. She'll go with her therapist Jamie to the Holland center. Her hope, to meet her favorite band.

"Oh my gosh, yeah yeah!" Kristen said.
