A 35-year-old Bellevue woman is competing against girls half her age. She wants to inspire other adults to stay active.
Her sport is baton twirling, and she says it's never too late to start. After 11 years off, Melissa Mcbride wanted to get back into something she loved. While some would see it as a setback, she says her age is making her better than ever.
"I know people have that excuse that they can't dance, or oh 'I'm too old, I can't dance, I am in my 40's.' It's like, no! You're not too old. There are things to do to keep you active. Just find something that you love. There's tons of things out there for adults to do," she said.
