The College World Series has no shortage of traditions, and beach balls in the outfield is one of them. Each year, fans sneak beach balls into the general admission seats in the outfield to toss around during breaks in the action.
However, there's usually at least one game each year where fans out-do themselves and bring hundreds of different inflatables to toss around. It's even coined its own phrase: "Beach Ball Bonanza"
Here's the scene during the TCU vs. Florida game Friday evening:

Since beach balls are not allowed into TD Ameritrade Park, the grounds crew's job is to find the beach balls and pop them.

It seems fans did not take kindly to this and planned ahead, reportedly throwing water balloons at the grounds crew while cleaning up.
Whoever thought of bringing water balloons to pelt the field crew cleaning up beach balls with- I need to hang out with that guy. #CWS
