A five-run Xavier fifth inning was too much for Creighton to overcome Friday night in the Big EAST tournament at TD Ameritrade Park, as the Bluejays fell to the Musketeers, 7-6.

Creighton held the lead entering the top of the fifth inning, thanks to the first of two Michael Emodi home runs Friday night, but then Xavier rattled off five straight runs to take a 6-2 lead.

The Jays rallied in the bottom of the seventh, as a Clark Brinkman two-RBI single made it a 7-6 game, but that was all the Bluejays could muster.

Creighton will now face St. John's Saturday afternoon with a berth to the final day of the Big EAST tournament on the line.  First pitch for that contest is set for 2:30 p.m.
