Nebraska softball team beats in-state rival Creighton 5-4

The Creighton softball team fell to in-state rival Nebraska Tuesday night at the Creighton Sports Complex. 

Nebraska was first on the scoreboard with a solo home run and a RBI bases-loaded walk during the second inning. The Huskers added a lead-off home run and RBI single in the third to take a 4-0 lead. 

The Bluejays answered with two runs in the bottom of the third. Anna O'Gorman hit a single to bring home Tash Coffiel. Allie Reinhart followed it up with another single to score O'Gorman from second. 

Nebraska scored one run in the fourth inning to make it a 5-2 game. 

In the bottom of the seventh inning O'Gorman hit her third home run of the season to cut the Huskers lead to 5-4. 

Creighton (18-25) finishes its home schedule Thursday against South Dakota (17-26). First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at the Creighton Sports Complex.
