Nebraska's run in the Big Ten tournament was short-lived. The defacto hosts lost two straight games to be eliminated before the weekend. One of their biggest struggles was at the plate where they only managed to scrape together six hits over their two games. Some of those problems could be attributed to missing Scott Schreiber. He led the Huskers in home runs and runs batted in this season. However, he missed the last series of the year and the Big Ten tournament with an injury.
If the Huskers manage to earn a regional spot his return could bolster their lackluster bats. But, after their loss on Thursday Darin Erstad wasn't sure if Schreiber would be ready to play by regionals.
