Nebraska athletics announced Tuesday that Georgetown transfer Isaac Copeland received a waiver from the NCAA and is immediately eligible to play for Nebraska basketball at the start of the 2017-18 season.

Copeland transferred to the Huskers in January of 2017. The Georgetown transfer received a medical redshirt after playing in just seven games because of an injury during the 2016-17 season.

The 6'9 forward started in 49 games for the Hoyas over two-plus seasons. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at the beginning of this season.

The Huskers start the 2017-18 season on Tuesday, Nov. 7 with an exhibition game against Northwood. Nebraska basketball will start its regular season Saturday, Nov. 11 against Eastern Illinois at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
