While the Nebraska Volleyball team played for a spot in the NCAA National Finals in Columbus, Ohio, fans watching in Omaha.
The young athletes at Premier Volleyball Club gathered around a TV screen to see the Huskers play.
“It is awesome to see Nebraska get the recognition for being a volleyball state, it is really cool,” said Freshman Lydia Yost.
The club produces hundreds of elite athletes every year, including Amber and Kadie Rolfzen.
The sister's former volleyball coach said that watching them play now is amazing.
“Doesn’t seem like it was that long ago they were here at Premier, and it’s been a cool experience to ground blossom into great players and people,” said Premier coach, Shannon Smolinski.
Seeing the Huskers play in the NCAA tournament is inspiring for these girls.
“It’s weird because they were girls just like us practicing on a team like there were on Premier gold back in high school it has been cool to watch them,” said Yost.
“I just to be a really big player, and just be like them some day,” said Sophie Hendrix.
Although Nebraska lost in the Final Four to Texas, everyone said there were proud of the team.
